Distance between cornhole boards

Technically boards are required to be 27 feet apart as measured from the front edge of each board according to the American Cornhole Association. To help settle the dispute of many backyard arguments, the below graphic can be used to set up your court in accordance with the official rules.

There are also 4 pitchers boxes on an official court. The pitcher’s boxes are the prescribed area from which the bag shall be thrown from by each player. There are a total of 4 pitcher boxes, 2 per side with 1 box on each side of each board.

The pitcher box area is defined by a 3 foot by 4 foot rectangle adjacent to the board. The length of the pitchers box starts at the back edge of the board and travels the length of the board. A player may not toss a bag from anywhere in front of the foul line which is an imaginary line extending out from the front edge of the board/pitchers box and perpendicular to the direction which the bags are thrown.
